Mike Correa

Mike is an award-winning bilingual poet and project manager from Newport News, Virginia.

The influence to his work from the Granada born, Lorca and the Chilean writer, Neruda, can be seen and heard in the images and language choices of Correa’s poetry.

Mike, along with Ann Shalaski, and Hollis Pruitt is a founding member of Word4WordPoets, a group of poets who host a monthly open mic poetry event at Aroma’s Coffeehouse in City Center in Newport News, Virginia.

He is a lifetime member of the Poetry Society of Virginia, member of the advisory council for Christopher Newport University’s Annual Writer’s Conference, and former member of the Executive Council of the Poetry Society of Virginia. Mike also developed and maintains this website.
