Happy Mother’s Day

Can we thank or say enough to the women who sacrificed so much for our happiness and well-being? I for one, think not.

Thank you, mother, mami, momma, mom.  Thanks for every tear you wiped and every booboo you kissed and every smile you offered and every second you rendered unselfishly.

We humbly offer a sprinkling of words in two languages to the beautiful women we hold so dear.

Challenge – June 2012

After another great night at Aromas Coffeehouse, it’s time for the June challenge.

Before we mention the challenge, we want to send a huge ‘Thank You!’ to Geri and Don Pratt for having us every month and another big hug and thanks to their lovely staff who work so hard to make Aromas a comfortable and delicious place to gather and share our poetry and friendship.

Tonight’s gathering was another testament to the talent, loyalty, and love that exists in our group. Each month we eagerly look forward to seeing our friends from around the corner and from across the tunnel (hey Pete, Judith, Jack, Bill, David, …!).

It’s always a thrill to hear the latest inspiration from these experienced writers. It is also exciting to hear the new voices from first-time readers and the young talent from Professor Pruitt’s creative writing classes. Keep writing, young poets and keep coming back!

Okay, we won’t keep you in suspense any longer. Ann’s challenge for June is for you to write a poem that is only one side of a two-sided conversation.

Intriguing? Yes. Inspiring? As always, Ann knows how to ask the poet’s question.

Now, get to work.

Challenge – May 2012

Poetry is at times informative… insightful… confessional.
It’s all about information. Right?
Have your poems been saying all they want to say?

The poetry challenge for May is to write a TMI (too much information) poem and to tell us
everything we don’t need to know.

Have fun with the challenge, but please consider our family-friendly venue when you share your TMI poem.

See you on the May 8th at Aromas!

Noticed the New Look?

Our website was re-written in HTML5 goodness. That’s geek-speak for the latest in web development. The biggest change on the site is the inclusion of a contact form and a search form on every page. We hope this will encourage our visitors to speak their minds and ask questions on the spot without having to navigate to a separate page.

Click on the blog home button above to check it out.

Welcome back. We had to include some additional security features to our website and we’re glad to bring back our blog.

Here you’ll find our latest monthly writing challenge, the monthly events calendar, latest Twitter feeds, and more.

Please drop a comment or two and let us know what you think. Thanks!
